Contact Details + Communication
Jim Drummond (Race Director)
Phone: 01786 841 715
Also if you are looking for help and advice before you commit and enter our Ultra event, please give Jim a call. He is very helpful and very experienced. He has run over 600 races! From 10km trail runs to some of the toughest Ultra Trail and Multi-Day events on the international calender. Also, sometimes speaking directly with Jim is better than an email. He can discuss and understand your running goals and how you would like to approch the West Highland Way 'Challenge' Race. By having that conversation, hopefully this allows Jim and his team to advise and support you accordingly.
Email communication: We aim to answer email enquiries within a few days. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
Facebook posts and enquiries. Please feel free to post and share your positive and constructive feedback. It often helps to further build the profile of the race and celebrate what a great experience the event is for all involved. Please remember to LIKE and SHARE our Facebook page. Any race questions to the Race Director should be directed by e-mail or phone Jim on 01786 841715.
In regard to asking questions: Please direct any race questions to the race e-mail address, or phone Jim on 01786 841715 and not to the race Facebook. We aim to respond to all enquiries within a few days (hopefully quicker).

The West Highland Way 'Challenge' Race can only take place with the support and hard work of all the Race Support Team and our volunteers. Thanks again to all of you who have supported the WHW 'Challenge' Race in previous years. Awesome job everyone!
THOSE WHO 'MARSHAL' RECEIVE 'RACE ATTENDANCE FUEL MONEY' AND ALSO A 'FREE ENTRY' FOR THEMSELVES INTO THE FOLLOWING YEARS RACE.
Volunteering and being part of the support team is a very rewarding experience. The banter and atmosphere amongst all volunteers and competitors alike make for a great fun weekend. It is also hard work and requires a 'roll your sleeves up' and get stuck in where needed approach.
"Great fun being a volunteer. Great team work. Encouraged many runners/walkers/joggers to keep going. Food and drink was fab too. The generous amount and variety went down well" Volunteer 2018
"Loved being part of the race support team this year. Helping, encouraging, re-assuring and feeding the competitors at various stages on the route was great fun. Did not realise just how popular hot soup and hot dogs can be with long distance runners, the food of champions! It was hard work and I was knackered come Sunday night but I am so glad I did it. Great Event. Great Experience. Thanks to all involved." Volunteer 2019
We are currently looking for volunteers for the 2021 West Highland Way 'Challenge' Race for the last week-end in May 2021. Opportunities exist to help out at Race Registration and at check points along the route. Ideally we are looking for volunteers who are happy to work a long shift at check point/s. The work involved would be set up of the check point, greeting and supporting all competitors from the first to the last, then packing away the check point and heading on to another location or home if only covering a few hours, where similar help and support is needed.
